The Salvation Army India South Western Territory (ISWT) is the Kerala-based territory of the Salvation Army, formed on 1 October 1970 when the former Southern India Territory divided in two; the Army's own work in the region traces back to 1896 in the old Travancore State. Headquartered in Thiruvananthapuram, it runs 14 free schools, the Evangeline Booth Hospital and Leprosorium, migrant and tribal health outreach, women's vocational training, and anti-human-trafficking awareness and advocacy programmes. It has also led flood and landslide disaster relief and recovery efforts across Kerala.
