The All Bengal Women's Union, founded in 1932 by pioneering Bengali women social reformers, runs homes for girls rescued from trafficking and abusive households on its Elliot Road campus in Kolkata. It houses a children's home and after-care home under the Juvenile Justice Act as well as an old age home, a primary school and vocational units — including a famous Christmas cake bakery whose profits go into the girls' savings.
