Rural Communes has worked since 1976 with marginal and small farmers, landless workers, women, artisans and tribal communities in Maharashtra. Its programmes cover watershed development and rainwater harvesting, climate-smart agriculture, natural resource management, conservation of medicinal plants and women's empowerment. It works across Raigad, Thane, Palghar, Satara, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Pune districts.
