AROEHAN began in 2006 as a field action project of the College of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan, after 169 tribal children died of malnutrition in Mokhada block, and was registered as an independent organisation in 2014. It works across Mokhada, Jawhar, Palghar and Dahanu blocks on child nutrition, maternal health, water harvesting, solar irrigation, farming collectives and local governance.
