Akhil Bharatiya Samaj Sewa Sansthan was founded on 23 March 1978 at Chitrakoot in the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh by Gaya Prasad Gopal. It works with Kol tribals and Dalits in the Manikpur and Mau blocks on land-title advocacy for families released from bonded labour, soil and water conservation, diversion-based irrigation, primary education centres and women's rights. It received the Fifth FICCI Water Award in 2017.
