The Community Library Project

The Community Library Project (TCLP) grew out of a volunteer read-aloud programme at the Deepalaya Learning Centre in New Delhi and opened its first free library in 2014-15. It runs free libraries in Delhi and Gurugram where membership, book issue, reading programmes and read-alouds are open to everyone at no cost, with library members themselves taking on leadership roles. TCLP is a founding member of the Free Libraries Network and campaigns for a public library system in India.
