The Victoria Memorial School for the Blind was founded in Mumbai on 14 February 1902, using the Victoria Memorial Fund raised by public contribution. It provides free education up to class VIII along with boarding and lodging for visually impaired boys, mostly from low-income families. The school also runs computer education, massage therapy training, a library and resource centre, a centre for special needs and mallakhamb and other sports training.
