Social Awareness Service Organisation was established in Imphal on 1 January 1991 by a group of recovering drug users who had lived the stigma of HIV. A pioneer of community-led harm reduction in Manipur, SASO runs targeted interventions, care and support for people who inject drugs and people living with HIV across the state.
