Charaka is a women's multipurpose industrial cooperative society at Bhimanakone village near Heggodu in Sagara taluk, Shivamogga district, started in 1994 by theatre director Prasanna. Its members handle yarn procurement, natural dyeing, weaving, tailoring and management, producing naturally dyed cotton handloom fabric and garments retailed under the DESI brand.
