WaterAid India
Indian arm of the global WaterAid federation delivering safe water, sanitation and hygiene programs since 1986
WaterAid has worked in India since 1986 and operates its Indian programs through a registered not-for-profit entity, Jal Seva Charitable Foundation, headquartered in New Delhi with regional offices spanning states including Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh. It works on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) — building safe drinking water access, toilets and handwashing infrastructure in underserved rural and urban communities, and pushing for WASH to be treated as a right rather than a charity add-on. WaterAid India also works with schools, healthcare facilities and local governments to make WASH improvements sustainable rather than one-off installations.
