Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Patna was first established in June 1922 in a rented thatched house on Govind Mitra Road, Bankipore, and was recognised as an official branch centre of Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math in 1926 before moving to its present site in 1930. Distinct from the national movement's Howrah headquarters, this Patna centre runs its own medical and educational relief services for the local population, continuing more than a century of direct service in the region.
