Mahita has worked since 1994 in the slums and rural communities of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to organise and empower marginalised women and girls. Based in Hyderabad, it runs programmes on early marriage prevention, menstrual hygiene awareness and livelihood skilling — including computer, beautician and fashion-design training centres — to help women build economic independence.
