Registered in 1976 by Italian missionaries turned Indian citizens Rev. Fr. Carlo Torriani and Sr. Luigina Marchesi, Lok Seva Sangam has spent five decades controlling leprosy and tuberculosis in Mumbai's slum communities from its base at Sion. Its skin clinics, mobile clinics and DOTS providers detect and treat cases across the city's most crowded wards, while family development and education programmes support affected families and children so that no one touched by leprosy or TB is left behind.
