Blind Welfare Council is a trust established in August 2000 in Dahod, Gujarat, founded by three visually impaired individuals, working across Dahod and Panchmahal districts on the rights of people with visual, hearing, locomotor and intellectual disabilities. It runs a multiple-disability residential school and what it states was the first residential school for hearing-impaired children (classes 1–5) in Gujarat, alongside a day-care centre serving around 52 children with intellectual and multiple disabilities. It also provides vocational and sports training and distributes assistive devices — tricycles, wheelchairs, crutches, white canes and hearing aids — largely to tribal and disabled residents of the region. In 2017 it received an International Excellence award from the Association of Rehab Professional and Allied Services & Para Sports Association.
