DEAN Foundation has delivered free palliative and hospice care to low-income cancer and terminal-illness patients in and around Chennai since 1998, working in partnership with Tamil Nadu's health department. It also runs a paediatric palliative care unit inside a government children's hospital.

  • 20,667 patients treated since inception (9 March 1998), as on 30 June 2026
  • 87,634 outpatient and 82,405 home care visits conducted
  • 3,999 children treated in the Paediatric Palliative Care Project
