Dr. Noshir Antia is the founder; founder trustee of The Foundation for Medical Research (1975)[1], an Indian non-profit working on healthcare from Mumbai.
The Foundation for Medical Research
The Foundation for Medical Research (FMR) is a Mumbai-based public trust and government-recognised research organisation affiliated with Mumbai University for postgraduate and doctoral study. Since 1975 it has conducted biomedical, translational and public health research, historically centred on leprosy, tuberculosis and plant-based medicine. Its research helped identify high levels of multidrug-resistant TB in Mumbai and the mechanisms behind rapidly acquired drug resistance. Current work has expanded into COVID-19, environmental health, malnutrition and health-system strengthening.
