Priti Adani is the founder of Adani Foundation[1], an Indian non-profit working on education, healthcare and livelihood from Ahmedabad.
Priti Adani, a dentist by training who married the industrialist Gautam Adani in 1986, has chaired the Adani Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Adani Group, since it was set up in Ahmedabad in 1996.
She has described the foundation as beginning with a small group addressing socio-economic inequality in the areas around the group's operations, and has directed it over nearly three decades from single-site community work to a programme spread across Indian states. Its work is organised under five headings: education, health and nutrition, sustainable livelihoods, climate action and community development.
The named initiatives she oversees include Adani Vidya Mandir, a set of schools providing free education; Utthan and Gyanodaya in school education and teaching quality; SuPoshan, which uses trained community health volunteers to tackle child malnutrition and anaemia; Swachhagraha, a sanitation and behaviour-change programme in schools; Adani Saksham and the Adani Skill Development Centre, which train young people for employment and by 2024 operated across fifteen states; and Project Sathwaro and Mangal Seva in community development. The foundation's stated principle, Seva Hi Sadhana Hai, treats service as a form of practice and commits it to work without distinction of caste, community or creed.[2][3]
