Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation

The Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation is a Mumbai-based philanthropic foundation set up by the Ambuja Cements founder, funding scholarships for higher education, healthcare access and rural development programmes across India. It runs a well-known scholarship scheme for postgraduate study and supports institution-building grants in health and education.

Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation reports the following, on its own site:

• 60,000 people screened for oral, breast and cervical cancer to aid early diagnosis and treatment
• 15,50,000 people sensitised on the ill effects of tobacco in villages across 12 states
• 5,000 schools declared tobacco-free
• 25,000 individuals supported in quitting tobacco through counselling under the LifeFirst programme
