Women's Environment Development Society (WEDS) was established in 2002 in Bellary district and now operates in 57 villages across Koppal district, Karnataka, forming and supporting self-help groups and joint-liability groups. Its site documents a watershed program undertaken with NABARD covering more than 800 hectares, alongside bottle-drip irrigation and other sustainable-agriculture initiatives aimed at reducing rural migration.
