TYCL is a youth-led non-profit started and run by college students from Puducherry and Tamil Nadu, co-founded in 2011 by Siva Mathiyazhagan and fellow students. Confronting a local youth suicide rate several times the national average, it runs the Puducherry Youth Helpline and its companion app, a Mobile Mental Health Clinic launched in 2020, and the Girls Lead Girls holistic self-defense program, building safe, participatory spaces where young people address community issues and cultivate collective power.
