Founded in 1984 by Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. Shayama Chona, Tamana runs special education centres in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi, including India's first dedicated autism rehabilitation and research centre, a skill development and NIOS centre, and a residential facility. It was among the first Indian institutions to treat autism as a distinct disability and pioneered reverse integration in early education.
