SOREM (Society for Rehabilitation of the Mentally Challenged)
Helping Chandigarh's special children learn, grow and shine since 1986
SOREM was founded in 1986 by Promila Chandra Mohan, a former national-level athlete and mathematics teacher who chose a prime residential plot in Sector 36-C, Chandigarh so that children with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and other developmental challenges would remain a visible, accepted part of the community. Its special school offers core learning, therapies, NIOS schooling, a sheltered workshop, vocational and independence training, sports and a labyrinth walk, standing by families at every step.
