Chandigarh Spinal Rehab, an initiative of the Sai Aasra Paraplegic Rehab Centre, rehabilitates people living with spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy and similar acute disabilities. Over 900 individuals have been through its goal-oriented programme, which combines physical therapy and nursing with rebuilding emotional confidence, and the centre reports that more than 80 per cent go on to lead independent, productive lives.
