The Smokeless Cookstove Foundation tackles household air pollution, which the WHO links to millions of premature deaths, by training rural, migrant and tribal communities to build their own smokeless mud cookstoves. Working since late 2016, its Smokeless Cookstove Revolution programme has run in Mumbai's Aarey Forest, Dediapada in Gujarat, and communities from Kanha Tiger Reserve to villages across a dozen states, adapting the stove to each region's cooking culture.
