Shuktara gives deaf and disabled young men and women who have no family a real home in Kolkata, deliberately run as a family rather than an institution, with care that lasts for life. Donations go directly to food, medical care, therapy and daily life, and the charity publishes independently audited financial reports every year. Projects such as Shuktara Cakes build skills and pride among residents.
