SIDS has worked in the Sundarbans since April 2005 from Dakshin Shibganj in Pathar Pratima block, South 24 Parganas. Its programmes run from child education, adolescent health and nutrition to vocational training in tailoring, carpentry and handicrafts, agricultural training with seed distribution, self-help groups, and support for the elderly and persons with disabilities in a disaster-prone delta.
