SEWA Bharat is the all-India federation of the Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA), set up in 1982 to extend the SEWA model of organising informal-economy women workers beyond Gujarat. It works directly in states including Delhi, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Punjab, Nagaland and West Bengal, supporting entrepreneurship, skill-building, digital and financial literacy, and grassroots leadership. The federation advocates for trade rights, social security and land rights for workers in India's informal economy, where the large majority of the workforce has no formal employment protection.
