NIPUN, Hindi for 'one who is skilled', was founded in 2005 by development workers to improve life for the poor in Delhi's settlements. It runs pre-schools, non-formal and remedial education centres across West, South East and South West Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon, along with vocational centres at Nihal Vihar and Kapashera. Community health programmes, a unit for differently abled children and women's groups including a mahila panchayat extend the work.
