JDT Islam (Jam'iyyat Da'wa wa Tablighul Islam) was established in Kozhikode in 1922 in the aftermath of the Malabar rebellion to care for orphaned and destitute children. Over a hundred years it has grown from an orphanage into a campus of schools, colleges and vocational institutions at Vellimadukunnu, while continuing orphan care as its core mission.
