Jan Mitra Nyas, founded in Varanasi in 1999 by Dr Lenin Raghuvanshi, works on human rights and health equity at the grassroots through its associated People's Vigilance Committee on Human Rights (PVCHR) programmes. It documents rights violations, runs the Savitri Bai Phule Mahila Panchayat for women's leadership, and advocates for marginalised and Dalit communities in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
