Chotay Taray Foundation began in 2000 as Kashmir's first special school for children with disabilities, at a time when no assisting body existed in the Valley, and was registered as an NGO in 2006. From Bemina, Srinagar it has grown into an extensive child resource centre offering rehabilitation, special education, therapy and livelihood training.
