The Barabari Collective, incorporated in 2023 as Barabari Collective Social Welfare Foundation (a Section 8 non-profit, CIN U88900TS2023NPL172104), is supported by The/Nudge and run by IIT and BITS alumni. It builds a recruiter-led, freelancing-based skilling, mentorship and employment pipeline for students at Tier-3 and below government degree colleges, partnering with the Government of Telangana to embed industry-aligned tech and design training directly into college curricula. The earn-as-you-learn model pairs candidates with mentors from the tech industry and paid project work so they build income and a portfolio while training, aiming at high-value freelance and full-time jobs in tech and design for low-income, semi-urban and rural youth.
