Cancer Patients Aid Association was established in Mumbai in 1969 by Y.K. Sapru to support socio-economically underprivileged cancer patients who cannot access or afford treatment. It works alongside the medical fraternity on awareness, early detection, treatment support, counselling, rehabilitation and advocacy, with offices in Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune.

Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) reports the following, on its own site:

  • 10,62,948 cancer patients and their families received support
  • 4,56,858 healthy individuals screened for cancer through camps and clinics
  • 4,92,063 people reached with cancer awareness in schools, colleges, offices, factories and residential locations
  • 34,406 patients and families rehabilitated
