Ruma Roka is the founder of Noida Deaf Society (2005)[1], an Indian non-profit working on disability and education from Noida.

Noida Deaf Society runs schools and vocational training centres for deaf children and youth across Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan, and places graduates into hospitality, IT, manufacturing and retail jobs, alongside teaching Indian Sign Language to the wider community.
Noida Deaf Society reports the following, on its own site:
- 24,000+ deaf students trained and 5,400+ deaf youth placed in employment
- 20,000 parents trained in Indian Sign Language and 23 deaf schools operated across 9 Indian states
