Founder of Snehadeep Trust for the Disabled

K. G. Mohan is the founder of Snehadeep Trust for the Disabled (1999)[1], an Indian non-profit working on disability, education and livelihood from Bengaluru.

K. G. Mohan is one of the three founder trustees of the Snehadeep Trust for the Disabled, a Bengaluru-based organisation established in 1999 to provide accommodation, education, training and personal development support to blind and physically disabled people.

Career

Snehadeep was founded in 1999 by three visually impaired graduates: Paul Muddha, its founder managing trustee, K. G. Mohan and Shrimannanarayan B. G. All three were blind, and set up the trust to secure for others the opportunities they had had to fight for themselves.

The trust runs residential training in computing, English and communication skills, together with mobility training, cultural programmes and support for college education, and has branches in Bengaluru and at Ranebennur in Haveri district, Karnataka. Mohan has said that the organisation had placed more than 300 students in employment, and that audible beepers were installed at traffic signals across Bengaluru following a seminar the trust held on mobility.[2][3][4]

Snehadeep Trust for the Disabled

Snehadeep Trust for the Disabled was established in 1999 by three visually impaired graduates who wanted to open up opportunities for people with disabilities. From its Bangalore centre it provides accommodation, education and training for visually impaired and physically disabled students, including computer and English training, mobility training, cultural programmes and skill development leading to employment.
