Shweta Rawat is the co-founder of The Hans Foundation (2009)[1], an Indian non-profit working on healthcare, education, disability and livelihood from New Delhi.

Shweta Rawat is the founder and chairperson of The Hans Foundation, an Indian philanthropic organisation she established in 2009 with the businessman Manoj Bhargava. The foundation funds and runs programmes in health, education, disability, livelihoods and disaster relief across India.

She is also managing director of the Rural India Supporting Trust, through which she first began humanitarian work.

Education

Rawat holds a bachelor's degree in international relations from American University in Washington, D.C., and a master's degree in human rights and politics from City University in the United Kingdom.

Career

The Hans Foundation was set up in 2009. Rawat has led it since its founding, directing its funding towards health care, education, skills and support for people with disabilities in underserved districts. The foundation also operates hospitals in Uttarakhand.

During the COVID-19 pandemic the foundation ran relief programmes, on which Rawat spoke publicly on its behalf.[2][3]
