Pheroza Bilimoria

Bilimoria spent 33 years in magazine publishing, cable television distribution and business-to-consumer exhibitions. She was a founding member of Business India Publications in 1978, where she first headed marketing and became managing director in 2000, and was involved in the development of the titles Business India, Inside Outside and Auto India as well as Business India Exhibitions and the cable operator BITV Cables, later part of the Hathway network.

She was the first woman president of both the Advertising Club Mumbai and the Advertising Standards Council of India. For more than fifteen years until 2013 she sat on the world board and executive committee of the International Advertising Association in New York, including six years as honorary secretary.

After her husband's death from cancer in 2013 Bilimoria undertook to work on relieving the suffering of people with life-limiting conditions. She established The Jimmy S Bilimoria Foundation, a charitable trust registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act 1950, and through it PALCARE, which provides multidisciplinary home-based palliative care in Greater Mumbai.

PALCARE cares primarily for cancer patients but also for people with chronic kidney failure, lung disease and the after-effects of stroke, providing pain relief and emotional support at home. Its supporters have included the Tata Trusts, the Mahindra Foundation, the Reliance Foundation, the Cipla Foundation and the Hemendra Kothari Foundation. Other trustees of the foundation include Rishaad Bilimoria, Leila Bilimoria, Homi R. Khusrokhan and Akbar Khan.

Bilimoria received the Champions Award of the International Advertising Association in 2013 and was made an honorary life member of the association in 2014.[2][3][4]
