Mr. Jaya Singh Thomas is the founder of Chaithanya Mahila Mandali (CMM) (2001)[1], an Indian non-profit working on anti-trafficking, women & children, healthcare and education from Secunderabad.
Chaithanya Mahila Mandali (CMM)
Chaithanya Mahila Mandali (CMM) is a community-based organisation founded in 2001 in Secunderabad by a group of women rehabilitated from the sex industry — the first such organisation in what was then Andhra Pradesh. Over more than two decades it has worked on HIV/AIDS and TB awareness, anti-human-trafficking advocacy, and protecting the children of sex workers from entering the trade, combining residential care, trauma counselling, education, medical care and psycho-social support. Its Chaithanya Happy Home hostel currently provides a quality education to 70 girls who are daughters of sex workers or at risk of trafficking. Note: cmm.org.in belongs to an unrelated, similarly-named Andhra Pradesh organisation focused on tribal and Dalit communities — the correct domain for this Secunderabad anti-trafficking CMM is chaithanyamahilamandali.com.
Chaithanya Mahila Mandali (CMM) reports the following, on its own site:
