Jeanne Jugan is the founder of The Little Sisters of the Poor in India (1839)[1], an Indian non-profit working on elderly from Kolkata.

The Little Sisters of the Poor in India

The Little Sisters of the Poor welcome the elderly poor into their Homes for the Aged irrespective of caste, creed and community, and care for them free of cost until their death. Their first Indian home opened in Kolkata on 30 November 1882, and they now run homes in cities including Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Secunderabad, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Guntur, Jabalpur and Goa.
