Missionaries of Charity is the religious congregation founded by Mother Teresa in Calcutta in 1950 to care for the destitute, sick, orphaned and dying. Run from its Mother House in Kolkata, it operates homes for the dying, orphanages, leprosy clinics and shelters across India and more than 130 countries.
