Dipesh Sutariya is the co-founder of EnAble India [1], an Indian non-profit working on disability and livelihood from Bengaluru.

Dipesh Mayukh Sutariya is co-founder of EnAble India, a Bangalore-based non-profit organisation working on the economic independence and dignity of people with disabilities. He is the organisation's trustee, chairman and managing director. EnAble India's own website names Shanti Raghavan as founder and managing trustee and Sutariya as co-founder.

The organisation began in 1999 out of the effort to help Raghavan's brother Hari, who had begun losing his sight at the age of fifteen, become economically independent. It has since worked with hundreds of thousands of people with disabilities across India, and with employers in the private and public sectors.

Education and career

Sutariya holds a master's degree in computer science from the United States, and has more than twenty-six years of combined experience in the corporate and development sectors.

At EnAble India he provides strategic direction, and has concentrated on changing employers' attitudes to hiring people with disabilities — building, in his description, a market in which corporate needs are met by a growing pool of professionals with disabilities. The organisation reports having worked with more than 600 companies in 25 cities and 26 sectors, and having placed more than 4,500 people with disabilities in employment directly.

He is a founding member and past president of the Disability NGOs Alliance, chairman of the Workability Asia chapter and a board member of Workability International, and mentors on the social programme of NSRCEL at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. In March 2025 EnAble India launched what it calls the Purple Economy Movement, which he has helped lead.

Recognition

Sutariya was named Indian Social Entrepreneur of the Year in 2019 and became a Schwab Foundation fellow in 2020. In 2020 he and Shanti Raghavan were jointly awarded Social Innovator of the Year by the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship.[2][3][4]
