Chandrasekhar Sankurathri is the founder of Sankurathri Foundation (1989)[1], an Indian non-profit working on healthcare, education and disaster relief from Kakinada.

Dr Chandrasekhar Sankurathri, who lost his wife and two children in the 1985 Air India Kanishka bombing, left Canada and founded the Sankurathri Foundation in 1989 in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. Its Srikiran Institute of Ophthalmology provides free and subsidised eye care, the Sarada Vidyalayam educates poor children free of cost, and Spandana runs disaster relief. He received the Padma Shri in 2023.

- 4,000,000+ out-patients examined so far
- 350,000+ cataract surgeries performed for free since 1993
- 4,500+ children educated till now
