Where Are India's Children? (WAIC) was registered in July 2019 under the legal name Child Welfare and Action Foundation, built on momentum from an earlier awareness campaign of the same name. It works to ensure every child in a Child Care Institution (CCI) is digitally accounted for, campaigning for timely adoption-eligibility evaluation, policy reform, training and public awareness so no child is assured a right to family life and none languish unnecessarily in shelters. It works in partnership with government child-protection systems and CCIs across India.
