Vision Empower
Builds accessible STEM curricula and tools so blind and low-vision students can study science and math
Vision Empower was incubated in 2017 at the IIIT-Bangalore Innovation Center to address a specific failure point in Indian education: blind and low-vision students are commonly pushed out of science and math tracks after class 7 because teaching materials, diagrams and lab work are not adapted for them. Founded by Vidhya Y, the organisation develops accessible STEM curricula, audio-tactile learning aids and teacher-training programs so visually impaired students can continue studying science subjects through senior school. Vision Empower works with schools for the blind, mainstream inclusive schools, corporate CSR partners and volunteers, and reports operating across 16 Indian states.
