The Poona School and Home for the Blind
Knowledge is power — free residential education for the visually impaired
Founded in 1934, The Poona School and Home for the Blind Trust in Koregaon Park, Pune runs a residential school that gives visually impaired children free education, boarding and vocational training. Built on trust, knowledge and commitment, the institution takes students from primary classes through secondary school with Braille and audio learning resources, music, sports and independent-living skills, and also operates a teachers' training centre for educators of the visually impaired — empowering generations of blind students to live independent lives.
