Founded in 1969 in Bengaluru, Shree Ramana Maharishi Academy for the Blind (SRMAB) offers free special education, lodging, boarding and medical care to children with visual impairment at its J.P. Nagar campus, alongside vocational training at its Thirumurthy Rural Development Centre. Its community-based rehabilitation programmes span rural Karnataka, and its students are nationally celebrated — from synchronized Bharatanatyam troupes to blind cricket captains and Republic Day parade contingents.
