A charitable mission hospital at Bazaricherra in Karimganj (Sribhumi) district of southern Assam, begun in 1950 as the Makunda Leprosy Colony and now an incorporated unit of the Emmanuel Hospital Association. It provides low-cost general, surgical, obstetric and critical-care services to a poor, largely tribal population at the junction of Assam, Tripura and Mizoram, and also runs a school for the same catchment.
