Family of Disabled (FoD) was founded in 1992 by Dr. Rajinder Johar, who was left quadriplegic by a spinal injury and, after recovering from depression, dedicated himself to helping disabled people become self-sufficient. Based in Janakpuri, New Delhi, FoD provides education, livelihood training and platforms such as customised tricycles and art exhibitions so people with disabilities from poor backgrounds can earn a dignified, independent living. Johar passed away in 2018; the organisation's programmes have supported over 50,000 individuals across India.
