S. Manjubhashini is the founder of Bala Mandir Kamaraj Trust (1949)[1], an Indian non-profit working on orphans & child care, education, disability and women & children from Chennai.

Bala Mandir Kamaraj Trust

Bala Mandir Kamaraj Trust was registered as a society in Chennai in 1949 and founded by K Kamaraj and Sarojini Varadappan. It runs children's homes in Chennai and Nagercoil, schools, the Madhuram Narayanan Centre for children with special needs, a research and resource centre, and a kinship care programme for orphaned children living with relatives. The Trust publishes annual reports and financial statements on its website.

Bala Mandir Kamaraj Trust reports the following, on its own site:

As of March 2025, Bala Mandir's Kinship Care programme supported 1,563 children across 886 families in 14 districts of Tamil Nadu.
The Bala Mandir Chennai Home, which admits boys and girls below the age of eight, currently houses 186 children.
In 2024-25, 101 children directly benefited from the Madhuram Narayanan Centre's early intervention services.
