Sarangan Soundararajan

Co-founder

Sarangan Soundararajan is the co-founder of Snehadhara Foundation (2012)[1], an Indian non-profit working on disability, arts & culture and mental health from Bengaluru.

Sarangan Soundararajan is the chief operating officer and a managing trustee of the Snehadhara Foundation, a Bangalore organisation that uses arts-based therapy with children and adults with disabilities. The foundation was founded by Gitanjali Sarangan; Soundararajan leads its operations, governance, finance and compliance.

He came to the work after a long career in information technology and has been involved in the disability sector since 2013.

Career

Soundararajan holds a bachelor's degree in computer science engineering from the University of Pune. He began his career teaching computer architecture at MIT, Pune, and went on to spend more than 28 years in the information technology industry, in senior roles at Tata Elxsi, Silicon Graphics and Accenture.

At Snehadhara Foundation he is responsible for organisational operations, institutional processes, financial management, compliance and human resources, and also works as a facilitator in the foundation's direct care centre.[2][3]

Snehadhara Foundation

Snehadhara Foundation is a Bengaluru trust registered under the Karnataka Trust Registration Act in December 2012 that uses arts practices - music, movement, drama and storytelling - as the core method of teaching and therapy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It runs a day centre, trains practitioners and partner institutions in arts-based inclusion, and campaigns on disability rights and access to public spaces.
